Solar grants
The use of solar energy has advanced substantially in recent years and this has been helped by the introduction of Government grants.
Under The Low Carbon Buildings scheme, grants are available for domestic use and for Charities and non profit making organisations such as sports clubs, housing associations, village halls, churches etc.
Grants for domestic installations are available for both Photovoltaic and Thermal systems. Subject to certain criteria, the maximum grant per household for a Photovoltaic system is currently £2500, and for a solar hot water system it is £400.
In phase 2 of the scheme for charities and non profit making organisations, there are Government grants available for 50% of the total cost. In addition, top up grants may be available from commercial companies.
